"I've dined here 5 or 6 times now since they opened and enjoy each experience. Everything I have ordered has been delicious. Steaks cooked to perfection. Absolutely LOVE the Lobster Bisque soup and order it every time. Highly recommend this restaurant."

"Excellent food and atmosphere. We ordered a sea bass , a prime rib and some appetizers. Steak lollipops , pheasant civet were very tasty. We got a tiramisu as a birthday cake, however we had our own cake with us. Blake took excellent care of us , he arranged a knife and water to slice the cake, extra plates. We were looking for a fine dining in Carbondale, it wasn’t easy but we got a last minute reservation. As Chicagoans we are little spoiled with good places to eat, and Ruthie’s Steak & Seafood was a great place to go. The restaurant is very nice so rather is better to overdress than underdress. Our waiter was very elegant. Thank you Blake for the wonderful service."

"We wanted to eat at Ruthies on Saturday January 31 2026 but didn't get ahold of my Casino Host till Saturday morning. Last minute thought for us .They were booked all the way up till 8:45p.m. that's to late. So I went at 4 to see if there were any cancelations but there weren't. So we decided to go back at 4:30 and eat at the Bar. Didn't sit long and we were told they had a Cancelation so we got a table. Let me tell you I don't know why we waited so long to eat there. It was the Best meal. My Filet Mingon was so good. Cooked perfect,best flavor, melt in your mouth. Best I have had . Got the Mac and cheese,side Salad ,Brocclini. My husband had the Steak with Crab meat on it,Brocclini and side salad.Our waitress was Jerra ( spelled wrong Im sure) she was super sweet always checked on us. Our table was cleared pretty fast. Got desserts to go. Had the Lemon cake very good. Even if you have to sit at the bar to eat do it the food and service are so worth it to sit there. Will definitely be back there to eat. If you have not ate there you must you will not be disappointed."

"If you’re thinking about dining here you won’t regret it. Worth every penny! Everything was perfect! We got the Maryland Ribeye, mashed potatoes and herbed mushrooms, it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. It was amazing! We had an excellent server named Blake! He was professional and very welcoming."

"We had planned date night at Ruthie's before a concert, and had made reservations a couple of months earlier on Walker's Bluff website. On a whim, we called the restaurant the day before to be told that we had no reservation in their listing. The manager, Ernest Carter then immediately looked to see if they could accommodate us, anyway and found us a good table in the bar area. Our bartender Chris was also polite and pleasant. The food and service was excellent and we will be back!"

"I must say, I’m impressed. My wife has dubbed me a filet snob. This was our first time here. This filet was one of the top three I’ve ever had, pretty close to top two. Shoutout to the chefs, Adam and Doug. The dessert was really, really good. Our servers Charles and Austin were great and fun to talk with. If you need a great date night with great food and atmosphere, give it a try."

"Normally I would take a lot of pictures but everything was SO good that I forgot to take pictures. All I can say is WOW - what an incredible restaurant. Whoever designed this restaurant and the menu deserves an award. There are literally no places like this in Southern Illinois - meaning an incredible steak house with actually amazing, creative food. I’m just blown away. We had the filet marmalade, filet medallions and shrimp, pork chop and prime rib as main courses, lobster bisque as a starter and brownie bread pudding for dessert. Honestly everything was cooked perfectly, tender, excellent flavors, well paired dipping sauces or sides. I just can’t get over how amazing the food was - and the steaks were cooked perfectly. We also had the side of mac and cheese and it was really savory but not too heavy. We also had some of their special Christmas cocktails and WOW again! Whoever built these cocktails deserves a raise. Overall our bill was $250 for 4 people and considering what we ordered (10 items in total) and the high end quality of food and drinks received, this is a STEAL! I cannot wait to go back. I should also mention the service was phenomenal, while the ambience and interior design were just perfection. But to be honest, the food is what is most memorable to me. I cannot wait to go back!"

"We had steaks, the brocolini and probably the most delicious baked potato we have ever had in our lives! Our steaks were perfectly cooked to our liking and well seasoned. Our two deserts were equally delicious. Just amazing food. The atmosphere was intimate, quiet and very clean. Everyone was friendly, helpful and had a smile for us. Our service from Alexis was courteous, friendly and attentive to our every need. She had recommendations and solutions for us without hesitation. Thank you Alexis! This was an absolutely delightful dinner experience. We'll see you again."
